Hi Mammatobronze,

My LO is going nursery for three days a week from 9am to 430pm and I shall be paying £57 a week for that.

I was unsure about who and how to go about childcare arrangements ('cos I moved into the village the day Jack arrived and had moved from another county) so I logged onto the local council website and looked under the childcare section. I was then put in touch with an organisation run by the council who had a list of registered Nurseries and childminders in  my area, along with the number of vacancies each had, from what age they took children and the fees charged.

HTH, Good luck

i dont use child care but i think most nurseys and private carers charge about £150/£200 a week.  If you wanted to use a registered childminder your hv should be able to get a list of availibility for you.  Good luck, hope u get sorted soon

I looked into sending Ollie to a Nursery before I left work and decided that the cost was just to much and I would end up working just to pay the Nursery fees.  I didn't want to use a childminder (I know there are brilliant ones I used to do it) but the cost there was around £4-£6 an hour here.  I can't remember how much the Nursery was now as I have only half a brain due to lack of sleep

Hi- I found a regd childminder thru our local council website, she seems a lovely lady & looks after a few kids- she has all the qualifications & showed me her recent audit etc by the necessary bodies- so all seems fine.

Roan will be with her from 830-530 Mon-Thurs & Fri 830-1pm. I go back 2 wrk at end of Oct (hopefully). The total cost per wk is £100-which I think is great- as the hourly rate is approx £2.50.

My mum is not well enough now to look after ds- but will still have my dd after school.
