i think as long as u are still have your monthly cycles then ua still able to have children, but persnally i always wanted children young.

i had kim at 20 and tam at 22.... i would like another and the lasteest i'd leave that would be 30.  i don't want to be an old mum

my mum was 25 when she had me and my sis and 28 with brother and we all have a close releationship with her.

I really don't think it matters.  You can only decide at the time... that's if you don't get sterilized or something though!

god I'll have to get a wriggle on if I want another one then - lol

I think that to try for a baby in your late forties or fifties is just wrong - it's not that you'd necessarily struggle with a baby at that age but I think that you need to think ahead to when that child becomes an adult itself and the parents might not be around for much longer and the child's children would not have any grandparents..it will have negative consequences for the child, not the parents - I don't think they are thinking about that at all, just selfishly wanting to fulfill their own desire to have a child.

I do think it's a different matter if they become pregnant by accident - like the couple in this programme that the doctor did not consider needed contraception and got caught...

Anyway, HOW MUCH OF A BRAT IS THE KID WITH AN 84 YEAR OLD DAD!!!!!  OMG, I couldn't stop ranting at the telly lol

Greedy my dp is 56 now and he has no parents alive so ed doesnt have grandparents on that side. My parents are close by though and spend loads of time with ed. I know our circumstances are not ideal but we talked it all through when we first became serious.

Not sure Grandparents for the children are an issue myself.  Mine and Keiths parents both live in Spain so hardly play an active role in my childrens lives, we see them maybe once or twice a year and they send cards for christmas and birthdays.

For myself I wouldn't personally want to be over 38 and be pregnant.  Not because I don't think an older parent makes a good parent but because the risks jump hugely for the health of the egg once a woman gets to 38yrs.  Men it's not so bad for, sperm is sperm.

Like the elderly man said who's to say a young person with a baby is going to be around in 10yrs time anymore than an older person.
