LittleP1984 had a homebirth, but she's on holiday at the mo. I think she's back this week. If you drop her a pm, I'm sure she'd be happy to chat about it when she returns.

My mother in law had her 2nd at home and she said it was a wonderfull experience. Far less stressfull that being in hospital as it meant that she could look after her eldest (my DH) and not be away from him.

My friend had a waterbirth at home and says it was a wonderful experience.

My bosses wife also had a homebirth and once it was over her, hubby and baby curled up in bed together and had a glass of champagne!

Me!!!!! Yay finally some1 wants 2 know about homebirths lol

i decided right from the start i wanted a homebirth, tell ur mw as soon as possible that this is ur intention even if ur not 100% sure yet u can change ur mind right up to the last second & deliver in hospital but it doesnt work so well the other way. U need 2 hav everything pre planned for ur homebirth by 37 wks but most mws will work better with u if u tell them this is wot u want from the start

Theres a great homebirth site that basically made up my mind completely - i will find it & let u know the address

Mine went really well even tho i had a 17 hour labour i managed 2 go 15 hours without pain relief & just gas & air on the last 2 which i dont believe i would hav been able 2 do in hospital

Everything was just so laid back - i dont hav a hospital experience 2 compare it 2 tho

I hope u get the birth u want & if uv got any questions i'll do my best 2 answer them

I've not had a homebirth but my SIL is a midwife and she has attended quite a few homebirths and says that they are always much calmer and are often a lovely experience..so much so that she has said that if she does have another baby, she wants a homebirth for sure..

Ask dp what his fears are for a home birth and you might be able to reassure him about his worries with the help of information you could find about home births, and tell him how you feel, and why you do want a home birth and that you need his support 100% wether it is in hospital or at home, hope you get what you want.
