Edward is REALLY suffering with his teeth at the moment. He has 10 teeth and has another 2 - possibly 3 teeth under the surface. On sunday he was terrible with them but today... he has cried pretty much non-stop for the past 2 hours. He wont let me put him down and the nurofen and teething gel havent touched it. He has got so worked up I was nearly in tears too. He actually bit my shoulder which he hasnt done since he was a tiny baby and it bloody hurts!

We were meant to be going out for lunch but I've just text my friend to ask her to pick something up and bring it here. I've stuck Edward in his cot as I cant do much else for him and its just gone quiet but we'll see how long for. Its tearing me apart seeing my baby in so much pain.

I Know what its like. Harry seems to have been teething for ever and he still only has 4 teeth and he has just turned 1. We can see the others under his gum. We had a terrible night with him last night, he just moans and groans and is so restless.

I hope you manage to have a nice lunch with your friend and Edward settles down.

He slept for over 1 and half hours and is much happier now.

Hopefully it'll stay like this!

Teething is horrid I totally agree.  Ollie now has 16 teeth the back ones are all swollen and sore.  He is waking at night in pain and as you say nothing seems to touch it, they must be so uncomfortable for them.

16 teeth!! Gosh Sam, Ols has done well.  We've just seen tooth number 8 poking through today.

Poor Eds.  Tom is terrible when teething too.  He gets a temperature, flushed cheeks and he drools alot.  Like Ed he tends to bite (to soothe the gum ache, I assume), but he gets told off for that instantly-that's one habit we don't want.  His appetite depletes and he gets really clingy and we're still only on number 8!

I find the teething powders are still the best thing too and Ollie likes them so that helps.  He does tend to get an upset tummy with his teeth and the powders really work.  Teething gel is good if you can get it on in the right place and I also use calpol when they are really bad and he has bright red cheeks.

I find the powders are great too - Ashton and Parsons aren't they?

Ella gets really dodgy guts when she's teething, and they really do settle her tum.

Ella only has 5 teeth at the mo, with 6 looking ready to pop - but then they have been like that for weeks!

Yeah, I use ashton & parsons teething powders too - i swear by them, you can also use these with calpol or medised.  I must admit though, Lewis is having a bit of bother with his back teeth at the moment, he has three out of four of his pre molars, but to be honest he hasnt been that bad - and the teething powders and medised have helped!! Madz - sympathies babe - i'm sending you and Eddie get well vibes xxxxx
