Well i thought you might wanna know how it all went so...i had my 3rd sweep on weds the 31st and i went into labour that night so went to hospital at 11pm and was told i was still 4cms so i asked to go to the ward and wait for things to progress, i stayed overnight didnt get a wink of sleep due to pain but nothing had progressed by 4am so i waited around...they did a standard CTG at 10am on the 1st july and they thought baby had a funny heart rhythm so i was rushed up to delivery suite to get checked out again and was informed if baby didnt behave i would be having a section! Thankfully baby decided to behave and they sent me back down to the ward at about 12...dh arrived very suprised to see i was being moved about, and i was still in pain with the contractions, at about 2 i was asking for a birthing ball to help things along and within an hour i was begging for an internal to see where i was at! They found me to be 5cms so sent me back to delivery suite who were pleased to see me again! I was given the gas and air pipe but i didnt feel i needed it so we were just chatting and joking about for a few hours, i was examined at 6ish and was found to be 7-8cms but i was coping on my own without pain relief...After that internal things really took a step up and it began to hurt so i was suppin my gas n air which was fab...i finally reached what they thought was fully and my waters broke so i began pushing but baby wasnt coming down and by 9:30 i was still pushing and crying with pain begging for a section. Then another mw noticed membranes were still there so she broke them but baby still didnt move down. Finally babys head was showing but it was white and mw then realised that membrane was STILL there so i pushed for england and they broke and the head shot to the exit and just waited there while i was instructed to pant and my scar was too stiff so i had an episiostomy and babys head was delivered, then within minutes baby was out! Baby Liam was born at 1:44am am on the 2nd of june 4 days late weighing 8lb9! Im not having any more coz it was too traumatic but he's worth every minute of it!

It sounds like I can manage that bug! lol  However unlike you I'll be on gas and air from the very beginning!  I am such a wimp! I look forward to typing on here it happened while I was asleep, but realistically I don't think it's gonna be that easy!

Glad you didn't need the section though!

Well done Sam! I'm sorry it was so worrying for you but you did so well! I've so proud of you!

Welcome Liam! I hope you dont give your mummy as much hassle in life as you did as a bump!

God sounds like you still went through it at the hospital.  Glad everything worked out ok in the end hun. WD.

Sounds like you had a time of it.  Well done for doing it by yourself.  I cheated and had a shot of pethidine right near the end, but other than that and gas n air I did it all by myself.

I don't blame any woman who opts for pain relief.  If it's there then why not!

Compaired to that, mine way a breeze!!! might type it up one day, lol.

Glad it all went well, and hope your enjoying the wee fella as much as we are enjoying the she devil...
