My favourite toddler/childrens books are:

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar
  • Charlottes Web (I can't find a copy anywhere. If anyone knows where they are still printing it please let me know)
  • The Faraway Tree (and everything else by Enid Blyton)
  • Slinky Malinky
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Thomas the Tank Engine
  • Spot the Dog (for wee LOs)

I'm interested to hear other peeps recommendations!

chidrens book are more my forte!

six dinner sid-by inga moore

horrid henry books-francesca simon

blue kangaroo books-emma chichester clarke

harry and the dinosaurs books-ian whybrow

anything by eric carle-i love the pictures

anything by lauren child esp-i will not ever never eat a tomato

we're going on a bearhunt-michel rosen

where the wild things are-maurice sendak-though his other books are slightly odd!

dr.seuss books-great for rhyming and silly nonsense words

simon james books-fantastic illustrations eg the wild woods, days like these

the owl babies-martin waddell

the tiger who came to tea-judith kerr who also wrote mog the forgetful cat!

the owl who was afraid of the dark-jill tomlinson

oh- fave older child book-stig of the dump-clive king! and box of delights-john masefield

the list is endless i could go on! my house is rather like a school library as you may have guessed! it will be just my luck if lily hates reading!
