Omg i have just listened to this poor womans story on this morning about the birth of her daughter.

Because of a very bad back condition during pregnancy she ended up having 19 epidurals during her 19 and a half hour labour.

At one point it was so intense she was begging the dr for a c-section.  The dr said he would try the vontuse first and if that didnt work he would do a section.  That failed as baby was too far up.  He then said he would try forceps and not give her a c-section like she begged for.  The forcep delivery was described as brutal.  Her husband had to hold her under her arms and pull her back as the dr inserted the forceps and leaned back at an angle and pulled so hard you could see the strain on his face.

The baby was born and was rushed to intensive care as the dr said she had a heart condition.  When the parents saw their daughter they described it is horrific.  Her whole face was brused she had black eyes her ear had been torn off and she had a blood blister that covered her wole scalp from where the vontuse had popped off.

Olivia died 8 hours after she was born because of extensive head injuries due to the forcep birth.

Her parents were on tv to urge all other parents to please please come forward and speak up if they were un-happy with any treatment or care they were given during their pregnancy or labour.

Love Trudi.  xx

OMG That is really bad!  I can't believe in this day and age, that things like that still happen!  I am so glad I finally got things sorted with my consultant, as I really don't think I could have coped hearing that if I hadn't!

I saw this too, and the doc was let off a prison sentence for manslaughter!!

Tbh, she should have been offered a c section to begin with as she had a prolapsed back, just imagine going through the pain of labour when you already have a painful back!!

I really do hope ppl come forward about bad birth experiences due to the medical staff...

Also there was a lady who was admited to the lw, and then left for 3 hours, during that time her baby had died whilst still in the womb.. due to a "shift change" and being forgoted about!!! Then they had the nerve to put her in a ward full of pg women!!!!!

I saw it too and was really moved by their stories and horrified that they were not listened too by hospital staff.

How brave she was to tell her story and I am pleased that there was a happy ending and that she went on to have a son by c-section. Of course she will never forget Olivia but at least her son gave her the will to continue.
