I had this before I came off it to have Fred!  I went 8 years without a period, and it's perfectly normal!  And seeing as though I caught quite easy with all the others, and went 10 yrs in between I would say it's very effective!  The only drawback, was when I came off it, it took me a year before my periods returned, and then they were anything form 2 weeks to 4 weeks apart! Hence why there was such confusion about when lo was due!  I didn't bloat, or have any side effects. HTH

I used the depo injection and like Vix said it is very normal not to have any periods.  I did have side affects from it though, depression and I put on a stone which I lost as soon as I stopped taking the injection.

hi, i was on the injection last year, my periods stopped completely straight away too. but like vicki says it does take along time to get back to normal after u come off it. ive been off it nearly a year now and im still not having periods.

if u have any queries with it and u cant get into c ur doctor...cant u ring fpr a phone consultation, or do u not have a nurse. im sure they'll be able to answer ur questions over the phone xxxx
