Joshua has been trained during the day for ages, 18 months or more and at one stage he was doing really well at night time. However he was having bad night terrors and put onto sedatives so it was impossible to keep up as he wouldnt wake if he needed the toilet. he has been back in pull ups for bed since. Last night and tonight he has decided he does not want to wear his pull up. He argues and fights getting it on, and then when I check on him he has taken it off. Tonight he is still wide awake and refusing toput his pull up back on. I dont mind training him at his pace but this week he is back on his sedatives, so if I ever get him to sleep chances are he wont wake up. Also the bathroom in this new house is downstairs, so training him is going to be very difficult. My mum said I should wait till next spring when he is settled in the new house and things but I want to go with his flow. I know if I let him go without pull ups Im going to have endless wet nights which really doesnt not bother me but I dont want it to upset Joshua.

What do you guys think, should I wait until he is more settled? Or dive straight in the deep and let him go with his own flow?

I always let the girls stear me with things like this.  Hayley used to do similar with her nappy (we didn't have pullups 17yrs ago lol) she would take it off if I did pursuade her to put it on in the first place.  I bought her a cotton sheet from Boots that have a rubber backing which I used to put on top of her bedding, I had 2 one for on the bed and one for in the wash.  I think pampers do a similar thing now but disposable instead of washable.  If the bathroom is downstairs you could put a potty or bucket next to his bed, I know it sounds a bit basic but I had a friend with her bathroom downstairs and this worked really well for her, she used to just empty it in the mornings.
