personally I took all kinds of rubbish I didn't need and forgot my hair straightners of all things! for baby, if you plan to formula feed, you might need to take milk in, bottles, nappies, cotton wool and vests/babygrows and a coming home outfit...and a carseat! as it's your 3rd, you might not be in long..
for you, you'll need huge knickers, maternity pads, breast pads, something to read and keep you entertained in case you have a long labour..stuff to drink (if its hot, freeze some bottles of water and it'll keep them nice and cool), energy sweets, nightie, dressing gown, slippers, chocolate..something for your hubby/partner to eat so he's not getting on your nerves by moaning about how hungry he is lol

My top tip for your labour bag is a tennis ball! Its really really good for your partner to use to massage your lower back if you labour in your back. He can roll it around on your back without making his hands ached! This was the best advise I had at my antenatal classes!

Labour bag, Shampoo, body wash, mp3 player if you have one, old nightshirt, dressing gown, slippers, socks, money for payphone, address book, plenty of big pants, nursing bras, breast pads, maternity pads, brush, toothbrush, tooth paste, nipple cream, clean night shirts.
Baby bag, nappies, wipes and ask if the hospital provides clothing for baby.

My favourite 2 pieces of kit were an empty bottle (or jug if you prefer) and a shallow plastic dish; both of which I took to the loo on every visit!!
"WHY?" I hear you ask!
I'd fill both with tepid water - the bottle to use after a pee for rinsing away blood, and the dish (my personal Godsend, especially after my 2nd dd - who lacerated me!) would stop the stinging of stitches on urination; made sure my "bomb-doors" (as dh calls 'em) were fully submerged before starting a wee - to dilute uric acid. Aaaaah! Best ante-natal class advice I had.

Having read all this, I hope I have everything now! Don't forget your camera, for the all important first pic of your new addition! and if it's digital make sure you have a new or spare set of batteries, in case the other ones go flat before you use it!

Would be best to ask if the hospital provide baby clothing first. The one that I had my 3 at gave you really nice vests and babygros for baby and it saved taking a pile of dirty washing home, lol.
