It depends why you are not sleeping really.  Is it the heat, are you uncomfy, are you being kicked, do you have to get up to wee, can you not breath at night, are you having vivid dreams?

I bought a wedge cushion from mothercare when I was far on in my last pregnancy and it was great, it supports your bump so it isn't dragging on your bump.

When I have problems sleeping I try and get myself into a routine for a few nights, go to bed at a set time, have a warm milky drink, a shower or a bath and relax in bed by reading a book for half an hour or watching the tv.

I never really slept all that well for the last 2-3mnts of pregnancy as I was just too uncomfy with Ollies head under my ribs.  If you can't sleep at night just try and rest when you can during the day and take it easy when you can.

i can sympothise as i've only had 2 good nites in last couple of months n feel exhausted constantly.

unfortunately 4 me it's a case of i'm a zombie 4 ages then i'll sleep 1 nite n back 2 usual.

as far as i'm aware u can still b prescribed sleepin pills but personally i'd c bout some more natural remedies first.

i've tried warm baths but they wake lo n he starts kickin me n i have allergies 2 the relaxin bubble baths but this may b worth a try 4 u.

all i can think of is the obvious things like no caffine, lavender, tryin not 2 worry (easier said than done) relaxin music, candles n makin sure ya room isn't 2 hot.

hth

Take care

If you're uncomfy in bed try and sleep with a pillow wedged between your knees.

In order to reduce the amount of nightly toilet visits drink a pint of water a hour before bedtime and not just before.

Try relaxing scents like lavender. I think some aromatherapy is unsafe so you will need to check what you can have.  I used Boots Pillow lavender scent on my pillow when I was pregnant to help me drift off.

Get your partner to give you a back rub or foot rub.  My DH was a diamond at doing these and it relaxed me lots.

Studies show that watching telly stimulates the brain so sleep can be a problem.  Why not wind down with a book or mag, or better still listen to some soothing music before bedtime.

I was really lucky when I was pg...I never had much problems sleeping but towards the very end I was a very restless so dh got me a cousie, it like a small beanie bag. I found it great because I was massive. we got it from vhi health care. I had no other los so i was able to nap during the day if i had a bad night. I also use to get a back massage on ocasion and it was great.

I hope you feel better soon.
