I was watching GMTV this morning, and they were going on about national transplant week, and urging people to become organ donors.

I have been a registered organ donor since i was 16, it was always something i felt strongly about, all my family know this.

I was just interested to see what evryones views are on organ donation.  Apparently you are more likely to need a transplant than become a donor. Almost 8,000 people in the UK are currently waiting for a transplant. Last year over 400 people died while waiting for one..

Everyone in my family knows that I want to be a donor. When I die I will not need any part of me so they can take what they want, Ive told my parents that no matter how big or small if it helps someone then let them take it. None of my family want to be donors but respect my wishes. I am electronically registered as a donor, I really ought to carry a card I just keep forgetting to pick one up xxx

I've been a registered donor since I was 17. Andy knows my wishes and so do all my family.

I'm registered on the register and I carry a card. Its something that I feel very strongly that I would want to do if I was able.

Its like blood donations. At the moment, I can't give blood because of the medication I'm on, but DH does and I will when I'm clear. Having been in a position where I very nearly needed a transplant, I think its very important for me to do my bit.
