Omg Im sat here shaking as I type this. Earlier this evening, whilst I was downstairs watching TV I heard Joshua crying. He has suffered with night terrors and lately the episodes have been regular at night. His room is secure and safe. I now leave him for the first 5/10 minutes as there is very little I can do and he generally settles better with me out of the room. I know this sounds mean but after 2 and a half years its something I found that helps him, I offer the support once he is calming and coming out. Anyway this evening he cried for maybe 4 minutes thats all so I didnt even go to his room after.

I have just come up to bed, I went in to check on him, tucked him in and came into my room. The lights were low and I was getting into bed I noticed what looked like a wet patch. I thought Joshua may have spilt a drink so I got up and turned the lights on, it was a pool of blood! I obviously paniced, I have checked Joshua head to toe and cannot see a single cut or bump on him. However he did bump his head earlier this evening but thats just a tiny red mark on his forehead. Joshua is sleeping just fine at the minute. I dont know what to do. By pool of blood I dont mean a few specs and I am over reacting I mean a 30cm ruler would not cover it. I dont know where it could have come from and I didnt hear him get up.

I feel like such a bad mother I should have checked him earlier, what if he has coughed this up omg ok Im getting hysterical. Im going to ring NHS for advice. Sorry for going on guys I just know you all listen when I dont know where to turn xxxx

I have rang NHS and they have advised i take him to the A&E deptartment in Bangor. I had to wake Joshua up for them and he told me he was sick. It sounds like he has brought the blood up and because of his head injury it is best to get him checked. they were going to send an ambulance but I will drive him he is quite alert and I am not overly concerned. Ok thats a lie Im pertrifed but I know he is ok if thats makes sense. Ok guys Im waffling, and Im going I have to take him just now. I will let you know what they say as soon as I can get back to a computer no matter what time it is tonight or morning.

Keep him in your thoughts for me xxx

Oh yes he does that very well!

We got back from the hospital a couple of hours ago, we both crashed out back in bed as soon as we got in. Joshua's boold pressure was concerning them at first but they said it could have been because I had just woke him. It was soon normal. he did tell us he had been sick and the hospital check every inch of him to see if the blood could have come from anywhere else. He said he was feeling fine and the hospital were quite happy that he was fine and sent him home with strict instructions to keep an eye on him and talk him back if he presents any unusual behaviour, sleepy/dizzy/nausea/sickness etc

I cant praise the hospital enough, the NHS wanted to send an ambulance and rang me back after ending our call but we were already in the car so she said she would phone ahead to Bangor. One arrival there were a team of medics including porters, nurses and doctors waiting by the front door and he was taken straight in and seen to. For the first hour no left his side. They treated him really well and i am quite satisfied he is ok.

What ever happened in those 4/5 minutes of crying will be off a mystery to me forever. I didnt hear Joshua leave the room, but I guess at some stage he must have done. We dont know what caused him to be sick blood the bump on his head is almost non-existant now. I guess it will just be another one of those things in the soap opera life of us lol he is up playing as normal this morning with no idea of the stress and concern he put me through bless him.

Thank you for your thoughts, and thank you to the madmummies that got me by phone and sent snuggles, means a lot xxxx

Gosh I have just read this.

How is Josh now? How are you?

i would have been freaking out if i found that amount of blood. Like others have siad, how were you to know?

Your a very strong person to be able to deal with what you have to deal with and to do it alone.

One things for sure, your life's not boring is it lol
