TMI WARNING!

I know that periods can be worse having had a baby, but has anyone who's had a c-section find that they get pains around their scar at the time of the month?

My afs are pretty horrid since having Ella, but they weren't exactly great before. I am getting a lot of pain around my section scar though. I'm taking Evening Primrose Oil, and this has helped a little, but am still finding that ibruprofen and a hot water bottle (nice in this weather!) are the only way to help it.

Anyone else had this?

I get pain on the right handside of my c-section scar when I have my period.  I think now my periods have settled down they are actually better than before I had Ollie, they only last 4-5 days and only one of those days am I on very heavy.  I do find I suffer with a lot more cramps the day I come on and take paracetamol for them.  I hate hot water bottles on my tummy it always makes me feel sick for some reason, I find a bath or shower eases it better.  My Nan always told me to go and dig the garden for period pain and to be honest some sort of exercise does really help as the uterous is a large muscle the pain is the muscle cramping and we all remember what cramp was like from being pregnant.....  To stop cramp you need to stretch the muscle out so walking or digging or what ever you can do to stay mobile helps.

Oh to be a man the only symptom they seem to get is having to check to see if their balls are still there every five minutes!

I don't know whether my scar hurts more when I have my period or not, I shall see next time I come on...and let you know!

I  know I am a bit late in answering this.

Mumsam-.

I now have two seperate c section scars. The one that is 10 months old still aches sometimes (I don't ever remember this from the first scar). Like Greedy I will check for when it aches and let you know!

TBH I am very lucky. My scar is hardly noticable (except for the horrid overhang). and i can hardly notice its there except for the very occassional itch.

Add the that i now have the depo and have so periods and just a stressy couple of days and mild tummy cramps once a month i'm doing ok so far.

Have you mentioned it to your gp? might be worth it.
