I've just read this story in our local paper and was absolutley shocked by it. I wouldn't even leave a dog in a car this long, in this heat

A BOY was left in a sweltering car for more than four hours outside a court after his mother was jailed for not sending him to school.

The mother, had left the 11-year-old while she appeared before magistrates in Salford charged with failing to make sure he attended the primary school in Little Hulton, Salford.

She was jailed for two months after the hearing was told that the boy had been to school just once since Easter. While the mother was being led down to the cells, her son was left waiting for her in the car. He was eventually spotted by a probation officer who noticed he was upset.

He took the boy inside the court and gave him a drink before contacting a social worker. Police are now investigating what happened.

It is understood that when she attended court for the hearing, The 'so called' mother, assumed she would not be jailed and so left her son outside. The boy is now with his grandparents.

For goodness sake!!

Surely there must have been facilities in the court that he could have gone to while waiting!! What would have happened if noone had noticed him??

All I can say is the reason she was at the court in the first place says it all really!!!!

Grr some people just shouldn't be allowed to have children

This absolutely disguists me!!  The 'mother' could have mentioned her son was in the car at some point!! I would never leave my LO in the car!  Even at 11!  You never know what might happen!!

Hopefully the grandparents do a better job!

My dp is a traffic warden and see this happen more than you would think, he has to report it straight to the police and wait for them to arrive, how could the mother not say anything, its not like she could get in any more trouble for him not being at school, i just don't know why some people have children.
