Hehe!

Rhona and I are going to be going through some training in August that
will enable us to be "Community Mothers"!

That'll mean that we will be on hand to support new mothers establish
and maintain their breastfeeding and be a support to them.

And hopefully we'll be able to help out members on here too- and give
them good advice!

Wow thats brilliant - well done you two!

Thats the type of thing that would have come in really handy when I was breastfeeding - I had a terrible time with Ellis and really didn't have any support

Sounds great

Good for you two! I'm sure you'll both be of excellent service.

I could have done with a similar sort of support with my bf, hence the reason i sopped

I think that's the reason why our health authority are direcing funds to
train mums in this way.

A lot of new mums today simply don't have anyone to support them
when it comes to maintaining breastfeeding. I know I didn't- I had
great familiy support but although my mum breastfed she, with the best
will in the world, couldn't help me with some of the problems I faced.

I attended a local breastfeeding support group that was an absolute
godsend. I definitely wouldn't have gone on breastfeeding my first wee
boy if it wasn't for the support of that group.

aw well done Lynie and Rhona

I used the NCT helpline when I was feeding madam and found them very useful - the lovely lady I spoke to even offered to come to my house to help me!
