Sam I'd just spend a lot of time trying either side of your ovulation period, makes sure of it then

B~ the reason you heard girls are more likely to be conceived earlier in the cycle is because it is thought that the boy sperms cannot survive as well in the tubes as they are more acidic than the uterus, therefore more likely for a girl sperm to break through the egg whilst it is moving down the tubes!

After trying for 4 yrs to get pregnant with jess i was always told best time to concieve is middle of cycle so hedge your bets a few days either side.
