TBH I stuck to very bland flavours in the first few months. Baby rice, pureed fruit and veggies, etc. All easily digestable by little tummys!

I'm not sure when they are allowed pasta, I'm sure someone will let you know.

I don't see why not, however be prepared for the nasty nappy afterwards! lol  I also stuck with bland flavours, but trying to get him to try new things is virtually impossible these days!  However except for buttons, he's not got much of a sweet tooth and I'm hoping to keep it like that too!  I am starting to get more variety into him now, he's now 16 months!

I think you have to keep babies on a gluten free diet for the first 6 months, pasta has gluten (Wheat products). I am not 100 % sure.

If I were you I would keep it simple, pasta might be hard for his tummy to diagest and he may end up with a pain.

At the end of the day his your baby and you know him best, do what you think is right.

I gave Joshua pasta from being very small, I did however start weaning him early so Im not sure if this makes a difference. Joshua never liked the bland foods and so was having flavours from as small as 12 weeks. He now eats a wide variety of foods and Ive never had any trouble with him. However like I said he was weaned early so that might have made a difference! Im sure if you talked to your HV (assuming she is aware your weaning) she will be able to tell you if pasta is ok. They do make the stage 1 jars with pasta!
