Good idea get the hv to have a quick look. It could be a grass rash or it even looks a bit like a nettle rash.
When I was younger I used to get big rash like spots on my tummy and I was told it was a reaction to my own persperation. A viral rash normally comes up after a virus or a cold.
It might be an allergy to something he has brushed up against.
It's probably going to be one of those things you never find out what caused it and it will go as quickly as it came.
