I've been pondering for a few days now as to whether or not to post this, but I though what the heck.

I've been feeling pretty low for a while now, with no real explanatory reasons.  I'm teary, snappy, moody, I've lost my sense of humor and my libido has done a runner.  I know what the sign's of depression are but I don't know if this is just a phase I'm going through, because of my mum's illness and my fil's illness and I'm thinking maybe thats starting to take it's toll. But on the other hand there's a big flashing neon light in my head saying 'depression'.

I don't want to see my doctor just yet as I know the first thing she will do/say because of my history with depression and thats not a route I want to follow right at this minute.

I'm confused, frustrated and fed up and right now, you lot are the only ones I've told, I really don't want to have this conversation with df as he says the same old, 'go and see your GP love', he really doesn't understand, which I know is no fault of his.

argh life, I suppose I should be thankful I have one

I know for myself having had depression that when I have had a few down days that I start to panic that the depression is coming back.  I have a set of things I do now to try and work out why I am feeling down like, what time of the month is it, how long have I really felt like this (it's handy to keep a journal somtimes and just jot in good day/bad day), what is going on in my life to make me feel like this and also how much sleep have I had, how are the kids, etc.  Also what is it I am really unhappy about.  Once having gone through all of this I can normally identify what it is making me feel this way and then do somthing to rectify it, you can't always rectify it if it's someone else making you feel this way but you can cope with it better once you identify it.  I also set myself a time limit, say if I feel like this still in 2wks time and my bad days have out weighed my good days then maybe it's time to take a trip to the dr's.

You have so much going on at the moment Rin it's no wonder you are starting to feel it now.  In the past when you have had depression how did you cope with it, how did you get yourself out of it, I am not asking you to tell us but to think of how you got over it then so it might help you get over it now.

I really hope you will feel better very soon and please don't hesitate to post if you need help or just someone to listen to you.

You've obviously got a lot of stress to cope with at the moment which may be contributing to how you're feeling.  My only advice is don't be feeling like that for too long.  If you do, and you think it's depression again, please go and see your doctor.

Rin you have got so much on your plate just now - you are dealing with a lot of stressful situations

Only you know if you think you need to see the doc or not

I know its hard to admit that it might be the depression returning but if it is then it needs to be treated

Sam has given great advice and hope thats of a lot of help to you

Remember we are all here for you hunni

Sending hugs

Sounds like your life is as hectic as mine, it's no wonder your having a few bad days!  with my fil and mil both having been in hospital, dh not coming home til late at this time of year and kids to help make life miserable!  Hope you feel much better soon.  Not sure what to suggest but I do find looking at my madmums mug brings a smile to my face!  More because I know how much fun and support I've had on this site! But also cos I try and guess who the people were based on!  Hope this cheers you up even if it's a tad!

Rin, I totally agree with what others have said in that you have so much going on, you're doing really well to keep going as you are. I know what you mean about is the depression back - may be it is, may be its not - but at the moment, you need to take stock of yourself and see how you feel in a few more days.

Like Sam said, its good to keep a journal - even if its a calendar with a G for good day or B for bad day on, so that you can count up and see where its heading. If the B's outweigh the G's, then yes a trip to the docs is a good idea.

Take care Rin, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

hiya sweetie

Youve had so much to cope with and youve been so incredibly strong throughout, and you still are being.

I know that things have a nasty habit of catching up with you after a while, and then you start to feel down and depressed.

A good idea like the other girls have said to take stock and have a few days to gather your thoughts and how you feel before you decide which way to go, I definetly think its a good idea to go to the docs even if its to ask for referral to counselling if you want to explore that route.

sending big suffolk hugs to you, am thinking of ya, and dont forget catch me on IM if you want a chat/cry/whatever

lots of luv

Thanks everyone.

Feeling alright today, my younger sis came by so have spent the whole day nattering about yester-years and stuff and took the boys to the park.

I have decided to keep a private blog about things and like suggested will give myself a time limit and if I still feel low, I will definitely go to the park

YES Jops I'm here half term...are you comming a stalking lolol
