I gave Rachel a Alpro soya yogurt. Its smooth and its suitable from 6 months. she loved it and I mean her mouth was open like a bird....which I haven't seen for a long long time.

I was just wondering if I was to see a reaction to the soya how long would it take to show up. (she is lactose intolerant and some kids that are allergic to the milk are allergic to soya as well) ? Can I give it to her every day when introducing it in her diet ?

She is almost 1.

My Ds had a milk allergy and was on soya formula milk but by the time he was 1 he had grown out of it! I'm not sure what difference it makes with lactose intolerence but If there was a reaction I'm sure there would have been signs within 24 hours. I would keep an eye out for any rashes and swelling, check poo and see if shes sick! Hth hun.

It depends whether she is allergic or intollerant to it.  If she is allergic you will see reaction very quickly within 12 hrs.  If she is intollerant it could take a build up of it to cause a reaction so you might give it to her every day for 4 days and she will be alright but on the 5th day she might start to get an upset tummy or a rash.  What I would personally do is having given it to her today wait 24hrs and make sure you don't introduce anything else new in this time if she then hasn't had a reaction to it after 24hrs then give her some more if after doing this for approx 5 days she has had no reaction you can be fairly sure she is ok with it.

I am allergic to soya protein and react to it within 12hrs with a bright red blotchy rash. hth
