Obviously besides being able to hear that much milk wobbling around your baby's belly with the ever growing waistline because your stretching the stomach from giving it so much milk!  I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the signs of when your baby may be ready for weaning.  Winston is now 11 weeks (just over) and he is drinking so much milk during the day and evening, I'm getting bothered.  His waist is growing faster than the rest of him, already in size 3 nappies for the width, he's coming very close to needing size 4, and there's no way he's much more than 12-13lbs, well I don't think so anyway!  But obviously I really don't want him on solids unless I have to.

He didn't take to easily to the hungry baby formula, so not sure whether to try that again, or baby rice!  I know I weaned Fred alot earlier than he was supposed to be weaned, but I think thats why I am having so much problem with his constipation now.  And I don't want to make the same mistake again!

Vix, I'd give the hungry baby formula another shot - it took me 2 goes with Ella as the 1st time, she just got really blocked up. 2nd time, I added an extra oz of water to 2 of her feeds made up with hungry baby milk, and this did the trick. It kept her going for a few more weeks before she started glugging 50oz a day of that! Then I weaned her at 15 weeks.

Good luck - I'd say its worth another shot.

Diz, I wouldn't mind if he got slightly more blocked up than he is bless him, he still has dirty nappies like when he was just born!  Very very loose and not formed!  I'm going to visit the hv on Tuesday and discuss things with her, see what she suggests for his other end.  50oz isn't too bad! lol I remember the other hv telling me to reduce Fred's milk when he was downing over 60, plus having solid feeds! lol  He did it himself when he realised how full and bloated he was getting!  All 4 of mine have been on the hungrier baby stuff so I am surprised that this one hasn't taken to it, he won't drink more than 2 oz of it at a time.  Well I'm on the last tin of gold, so I'll get some white in and try it  Worse case he doesn't like it again!  Best case it settles his tum and bum!

Not bad Jopsy, just he has been having loose nappies for ages! I never gave it a thought til mom mentioned it.  He only has 1 or 2 dirty ones a day, but it has been so long since he had a proper nappy, I just didn't give it a thought!
