No. I dont think so. If your stressed worried or having bad days you tend not to eat so therefore will start to lose weight.  I put on a bit of weight whilst on antidepressents but whilst suffering with pnd actually lost weight I was that severly depressed, could eat, only wanted to sleep.

It is possible some may have that as a side effect but it has never happened to me and I havent heard of it specifically. However depression itself can mean you dont eat as well and can alter you metabolism meaning you could gain or lose weight.

Can I ask why you are asking?

I've lost weight, but I haven't rtied too, it just keeps falling off so now I am actually starting to eat!  The other thing I was thinking, is if you were feeling low and eating sweets etc, and your not eating them now, that could also have helped!

I don't think they make you lose weight, but depression itself can.  I, on the other hand, am comforting myself by indulging in my fave choccie bars: Galaxy and Dairy Milk nearly every night so the scales are not my best friend at the moment.

When I initially split up from my dh I couldn't eat.  My appetite was shot to pieces and I lost weight rapidly.  I'm still depressed and the anti-ds don't seem to be working v. well so I'm going to see my GP about changing.

Try and look after yourself Martha and that means eating sensibly.

Zo xxxxx
