You got H to eat marrow? Blimey - they must have been good.

I got lots of raspberries this year, but two of my kids don't care how much input they've had to the growing of vegetables - they still won't eat anything except carrots! Two out of my three are really difficult eaters, and I can chalk up 'home growing' as yet another bloody idea that didn't work! (Though I don't mind this failure quite so much as I at least now have lots of homemade yummy jam, which my eldest adores!)

Ah, you see, there are two secrets to good jam. (God, how domestic am I? just call me Margarite Patten!)

One is a good pan (Lakeland plastics do one) and the second is Certo pectin. Follow the instructions on the bottle and you can't go wrong, make sure you've warmed your jars too. Yum.

YES I DID EAT THE MARROW!!! It was lovely. We had veggie lasagne! Beasts!!

I have to say, Rachel's jam is very good - note to 3smallboys, I need more Jam!

Jo, when you come up next, bring Rachel all your gourds and she can make you Gourd Jam!
