when i had molly i had loads of clothes - really i didnt have to buy any for the 1st 9 months lol, one friend got me a lovely beatrix potter baby keepsake book which was lovely and i have kept it all up to date and really enjoy reading and looking at all the pics so that was lovely, another mate which this one was a great idea she brought a layette box and litrually filled it with everythin you need for lo, nappys, creams, wipes, cotton wool, shampoo, talk, baby lotion, dummys, mitts, socks all these came in handy and i used the lot so im doing the same for another friend of ours whos pregnant.

goodluck to your friend xx jue xx

How about Vital Touch stuff - we had a comp on here.

They do a set for new mum which is really helpful. It has massage oil for baby, new parent pick-up spray, Tummy rub for stretch marks, umm and other stuff. I really apprieciated that!

More or less everyone got bits and pieces for the babies when they were first born, which was nice.  One of my mates was a bit warped (think thats why we got on so well lol) she got Isla a new baby teddy with the initial I on it.  However, she got me a box of paracetamol, a huuuuge (oversized) bottle of Stella, some ear plugs, a big block of choccie and a huge bottle of my fave bubbly bath.  Just made me laugh when I opened it all, mil wasnt too impressed as she couldnt see the humour behind it.

what about getting a plaque with everything on it that happened on the day that the baby was born...I don't know how quickly they can make them but it would be something nice to keep...do you know the kind of thing I mean?

or a babysitting voucher for when baby is driving her mad lol
