rofl!  count yourself lucky you lot!  my mil lives less than 5 mins away, has her own key and lets herself in whilst knocking on the door!  We have a calendar on our kitchen wall where we write appts and stuff on, she wrote her own birthday on it the other day!!!

Once she came round and woke Ellie up on purpose just because she wasn't going to see her for a few days...I was so mad I thought I might spontaneously combust...!

Altho maybe I should count my blessings, at least she doesn't pee on the loo seat pmsl

My mil  and fil doen't take any interest in my kids. They only live 15 mins away and never visit(thank god because the house wouldn't be clean enough or the grass short enough etc) My dh goes and visits them on his own. I see less of them now I live near them than I did when we use to live 400 miles away and had to spent holidays there. Now that was stressful and I am so glad I don't have to stay anymore. On the other hand I now really miss my own parents who are now 400 miles from me and really appreciate everything they did for me when my older 2 were babies.I just feel my mil is missing out on so much but thats her choice.
