I have to phone my boss in a minute to let him know I can't come in, Fred is so whingy today it is unbelievable! My hubby has finally realised that I am after 14 yrs, happy to stay at hime, and do housework! The nesting instinct hasn't left since pg, and I'm keeping the house running smoothly, and happily, yet Iwent to work for two very short days last week and it went to hell in a hand basket! So he has agreed that although I will do two days a week in the summer holidays, for which he will work from home, I can officially be a stay at home mom! I am so excited, but it's the only way the house is gonna stay clen, and the family is gobnna stay happy!

That's great Vix. I really want to be a stay at home Mum too but it's not looking that great with Keiths job situation. When I was younger and had the girls I couldn't wait to get out and back to work. Now I have to say I love being at home and running the house and best of all looking after Ollie. Funny how we change as we get older.
I used to dream of a high powered carreer when the girls were little and hated being at home. Now I want to be at home it doesn't look like I can That's life.

That was the same for me, I spent years wanting a job to get me out of theh ouse, but since Fred came along it's different! Evan the older ones are excited at the prospect of mummy not working. It's great that they can help out with thehousework, but I'd rather do that during the day, so we can spend quality time when they get home, even if it means with Fred, although after the half term, even he is getting used to the fact there's more than just him in thehouse, and he's noticing more now, so the kids are able to play with him! They even asked if he could come outside and play tennis yesterday! I didn't fancy dealing with the bruises if he had! And it wouldn't have been fair, as they would win cos he can't hold a racket just yet! lol, but they are alot more patient when he cries now, as they understand he's probably just hungry again!!!!!

i'm a stay at home mum but would like 2 have a part time job or study course just 4 a change of scenary and something 2 talk about with dp as he is also a stay at home dad it gets a bit boring and tedious if u know what i mean we just have nothing 2 talk about

My dh and I have very little to talk about, and he works full time, and home on the farm. But then he's just wierd anyway! lol probably why I liked him in the first place, we seem to have a great relationship when he comes in from work, whoever wants the tv has it, the other one gets the comp!

Vix your house sounds very much like ours, apart from we don't live on a farm but I would really love to live in the country side miles away from anyone and maybe do B&B or something like that for some income. Well you never know one day.

I'm loving my mat leave- this time I'm off for 6mths, as I only took 3mths for dd in 1999. I'm not so scared about going back 2 work in October as I was with dd- the variety seems 2 suit me. I've booked a childminder for ds-but it'll be odd leaving him & I'll still cry when I go back 2 wrk!!
I wish dh & me could come up with a fab business idea & have our own business from home - any ideas??

id like to do both home and work-still feel like i need a career. was supposed to be doing headship training this april-lol. im going to try 4 days a wk in sept. we need to pay our mortgage tho! i earn more than dh.

I'm with joppsy on this one. Being the main earner means I
have no choice about going back to work. I'm not looking forward to it
as I will miss some of his milestones as they will inevitiably
occur when he is at nursery. Still at lleast my job is flexible
and I can work from home two days a week and I can do my job out of
regular hours if needs be.
