Hey all,

We finally have some answers as to why Liam has always been sick...When the sickness stopped the diarrhoea started and he has had it for over a month...after several stool tests and gp visits the conclusion is lactose intolerance. I have had to put him of infasoy and change his diet...If the diarrhoea doesn't stop by next week he will be referred for further testing.

That same day we were told that i had a gp appointment and as routine before presciption my bp was taken...my gp was in shock i think...146/104 it was...so he said he would do it again in 5  minutes but by then it had gone up again so i have to go back next week for another bp measuring...Been told to take it real easy as at that level im at serious risk of a heart attack...Its been a tough week but im trying hard not to get stressed now.

sorry for rambling xxxx

Sorry to hear you have had a tough week.

My middle daughter Fran was lactose intolerant and soya intolerant.  She was quite poorly with it had colitis and chronic pain.  She still gets a bit of an upset tummy now if she eats too many dairy products but she has more or less grown out of it now she is 13.  Stopping dairy products was a miracle cure for her and within 24hrs she was a different child, I hope it works for Liam.

Try and take it easy and get your bp down.  Also cut all salt out of your diet as that increases bp (including crisps).

Hope things improve soon for you.

Thankyou for the continuous support, i am trying hard to relax. I'm going to be a label reader...something i always disliked about my grandad lol! I hope he grows out of it, but if he doesn't he doesn't!

I am trying to lose weight, i dont eat crisps anymore coz i was actually addicted to them and it has taken me 5 months to get to this point of not wanting any. I have a huge downfall though and its not chocolate....chips!! I love them, i dont add anything extra to them but they are certainly not helping lol. I am going to try extra hard to eat more healthy.

xxxxx Thanks again

Hi, Gregory was lactose and soya intolerant until he was about 3 and he just outgrew it. However it did return again when he was 5 after he had the chicken pox for about year. Hes nearly 11 and can now tolerate most dairy products but if he has too much he  starts getting stomach pains.

I hope Liam starts to feel better and that your bp goes down as well

HI sweetie

My Amber was lactose intolerant for a while after she was diagnosed with the coeliac condition, but her tummy returned to normal once she started on a gluten free diet.

As for label reading we have to do it for gluten free - very daunting at first, but you do get used to it hun, it becomes second nature after a while  You do find that a lot of manufacturers and supermarkets do label for certain allergies which makes life a hell of a lot easier!

I hope too you feel better and your bp comes down soon, take it easy (or as easy as you can do!)

big hugs

lilybxx
