just wondering if it unusual for bf babies about 8months old not to gain weight. My dd was born at 6 lbs 12 oz she gained weight well untill this month I took her for a weigh in on Nov. 22 and she was 18 lbs 5 oz I weighed her today and she is 18lbs I plan to take her to the docs. for a proper weigh in but just  wondering if it is unusual maybe I should make an appointment.

thanks

It's quite normal for breastfed and bottlefed babies to slow down on weight gain at this age as they become more mobile and so use more energy.  If you are going by most universal weight gain charts they are historically for bottlefed babies and do not give a true representation for breastfed babies.  I wouldn't worry as long as she is having wet nappies and eating and drinking.  They go through growth spurts too where they grow taller but put on less weight and then they put on weight again.  If you are really concerned then go with your instints and consult a doctor. hth
