Is there anything else this could b?Im starting 2 get a little worried now although hv said it was normal - shes not actually seen him do it. The people who hav witnessed it find it strange. Iv never known any los 2 shiver the way he does, hes doing it alot more than he used 2 maybe 10+times a day

Is it at any particular time?  Like when you are giving him solids, or milk?  When you bath him?  Is it when you are dressing him?  Putting a bib on him?  Or does he just sit there and do it?  Is it like a flinch and then he shakes?

I am so pleased this thread has reappeared as I was going to hunt for it this morning. Edward has started doing this sometimes when he feeds (breastfeed so milk not solids), its almost like he's having a fit and it is quite scary, he doesnt always do it, I think its more often when he's sleepy. He always is ok after and it only lasts a few seconds. I havent mentioned it to the hv yet but if I make it there this week I might ask.

He just sits & shakes (sometimes he does 2 in a row but most often its just 1 shiver), alot of the time hes sick afterward (not sure if 1 causes the other), like madz says its like a mini fit & i always check him over afterwards but he seems fine. He always seems 2 make a sighing noise as it happens 2, he didnt at the beginning tho just more recently.

this hasn't happened to any of mine but I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.  If you're still concerned keep mentioning it to your hv.  Tc xxx

Sounds like a bit of reflux.  The shake or mini fit is what happened to Ollie when he was very little not sure if you remember.  Their whole body shudders and they almost curl into a little ball?  The reason why they shake/shiver is that the stomach acid burns as it comes up and then they quite often bring up a bit of sick.  Can also lead to them having hiccups.

Madz is Eddie laying down feeding when he does it?  If so try sitting him up a little to feed, I find if I cross my legs and feed Ollie he can alsmost sit and feed now.

I would mention it to your health visitors as they may reccommend you try something like baby gaviscon.  I don't give Ollie anything for it personally as I found the gaviscon made him constipated.  I just try to keep him as upright as possible after feeding him.

Thanks Sam I'll try that, he does usually lay down when feeding. It doesnt stop him feeding though and he isnt actually sick so I dont think its too bad - I'll mention it to the hv next time I see her.
