I am starting to wean my 7 mth old, and am having a time of it. I am not making enough milk for him, but he WILL NOT take a bottle. Any suggestions?

Hi welcome to the site!

Hope this helps.  Get a cup and put the milk in it and try to get him to take little sips from the cup?  This will help when he uses a trainer cup too!

You could also try a teaspoon, or medicine spoon and slowly dribble it into the mouth. Is it the bottle he doesn't like or whats in it? My boy didn't like formula but would take expressed breast milk from a bottle no probs.

I have tried about every bottle nipple out there-he does not like any of them. I did just have a break-through though- he drank some juice out of a glass with a straw, so maybe he won't even take a bottle.

Hi, welcome to the site!

If you're starting to wean him, will he eat yoghurt or other dairy solids to get his calcium that way? Some children just don't like bottles, and he may be better off you try a trainer cup that's suitable from 6 months. Although he may reject it at first, if you leave it around (though obviously not for too long at a time) and always offer the cup first, he may get the hint!

Good luck
