This is a story seems to yet again be in the news.

I have 2 aunties that are gay and both with partners.  One of my aunties and her partner are foster parents to 2 sisters.  This is the the same aunt and partner who recently got married.

What do you think?

Love Trudi.  xx

PS  Please leave your honest views i wont be offended lol.

oooh I still can't decide about this one - it's not that I'm homophobic (or at least I don't think I am!) but I do worry about the children being teased if they are brought up by a gay couple - other kids can be very cruel and I would hate to think of a child being bullied because of it - on the other hand, the alternative for those children is perhaps never being fostered and spending their childhoods in care homes which I don't think is where they should be..

I honestly can't decide!

If a child is going to get bullied they will be it because both thier parent are men or women or because they only have a mum or dad right down to their hair colour or they are wearing the wrong trainers.

i cant decide, i have nothing against gay couples but like julie said the thing i dont like is that the child would be teased,

but on the other hand it would be better for the child to be in a loving home.

sorry trudi this a hard one.

I think it is far better that a child is in a loving home whether that be with straight or gay parents than none at all. I think gay parents are just as loving and supportive and I think it is up to the rest of us to ensure our children do not see it as 'abnormal' and therefore dont bully these children.

However I can understand why the christian groups dont want to allow it as it is against their beliefs and I would rather the government allowed these homes to bring this rule in (as there are plenty of homes who do aloow gay couples to adopt) than these homes be closed and the children lose out.

If a child is brought up in a straight relationship, the bullies at school will find something else to bully them over. Bullies are just that, and dont care what it is they taunt a child over. There are many children and babies in childrens homes, foster homes not knowing where they will be spending the next week, or Christmas, yet there are very maternal and paternal homosexuals that would be more that capable of giving these children a stable loving environmant to grow up in.

When we were younger the bullies used to taunt about single parenting and divorced couples, no one ever spoke about homosexuals. Now, single parenting is becoming the norm and children dont really bat an eye lid and adults are more accepting of it. In time it will be the same with homosexual parents. It is up to us as the producer of the new generation to not implant judgmentals into our children and so the new generation grow with respect and understanding for couples no matter of their sexuality or circumstance.

Each to his own, however I was raised a Christian and to me, even allowing gay priests is wrong.  In the Bible it says God made man to lie down with woman, so I'm afraid I'm against it.  Having said that rather the child was raised in a loving environment than one of hate so for that I am on the fence!

I think that as long as the child or children are well looked after and loved it shouldnt matter that they both happen to have the same anatomy! They would be very lucky to get adopted at all...remember those many who arent so lucky as to have loving caring homes. I'd rather see a child happily playing with 2 daddies or 2 mummies than a child crying lonely on the streets.

I still believe it's not the sex of a parent that makes them a good parent.  There are plenty of children in opposite sex families that are abused and ill treated.  All prospective parents go through a really tough investigation before being allowed to adopt it takes a long time.  If two men or two women have the requirements to look after a child I see no problem with it myself.
