Hi, welcome to the site and I'm sorry that you feel this way.
I've had a few runs of depression, most recently post natal depression following the birth of my daughter. I know exactly what you mean and just want to assure you that you are not a bad mother at all. This is a horrible illness, but it is treatable and by admitting that there is a problem and taking steps such as anti-depressants, you have made the first step to recovery.
I too used to dread waking up. I felt as if I just wanted everything to stop. I was tired, but when I did sleep I'd have nightmares and felt generally horrible. If you think your tablets are affecting your sleep, its worth talking to your GP to see if a different tablet would suit you better.
Please please do not blame yourself or feel that you are a bad mother - you really really are not. There are many other mums on here who are going through this now, or have done in the past and we're all here to help in any way we can.
If you're interested, we have a buddy scheme where Mums who have experience in areas such as post natal depression can buddy up with others to give support. If you are interested, please click HERE
