Can anyone recommend a good anti-spyware product, pref a free one and/or virus checkers?

I currently use AVG free edition as a virus checker and am generally very pleased with it, largly cos its free and seems to do a good job. I also use Microsoft's anti-spyware programme, which again seems to be good however....

I was a silly billy last week and installed smiley central. Yes, I know, but I was desperate for a sheep smiley!! LOL!!! Anyway, sure enough, lots of warnings appeared and I uninstalled it post haste. I've run several checks over my PC and all seems to be well again. I've also run ad-aware over it and again, all is well.

Then AVG found 6 trojans today!!! I don't know where from, but I've not downloaded anything recently...

What products do you use and are you pleased with them?
