I've been having major pc trouble over the last few days, which is why I've not been around.

When I am trying to access online accounts such as my bank my ebay aaount etc.. all I get is 'Page cannot be displayed'.  I have tried all sorts and still no joy.

Can anyone help.  I am contemplating taking it to pc world but not sure if they will be able to sort it.

Rin, the message about not being able to display the page is more likely to be an internet problem rather than a PC problem. Apologies if you've already done this, but have you tried the following:

  • Are your bookmarks correct for the pages? For example, if you follow the link to ebay from here, does it take you to ebay, if so it might be worth re-saving your bookmark/favourite.
  • Have you got all the updates for your browser?
  • Have you checked with your provider if there have been any issues with the service?

Is this any help?!

What browser do you use?

Are all these pages secure? Do the URL's start with https:// rather than http:// ?

What browser are you using? Do you have another browser you can try, possibly download Firefox and see if you get the same issue, that would then help to know where to start to troubleshoot this.

Finally managed to fix it.  It was something to do with My windows apparently I was avictim of some sort of software counterfiting.  So had to mess about abit and re installed norton antivirus and got rid of mcafee and it seems to be fine.  I think it needs upgrading but it'll have to wait

Ah well at least its fixed for now lol
