HI everyone,

I'm definitely new and confused about how the site works...

I just know I was glad to stumble upon a place where the pain I've been in for about two weeks had an explanation (I mean apart from being told it's the 'normal' aches and pains of pregnancy) !!!

Ive been married to my DH for two years now and after a miscarriage last year, we're expecting our first bundle of joy between the 30th of April and the 20th of May 2008 :)

I look forward to ANY advice about how to manage my SPD and indeed anything else in the future!

Hi there.

I've given you your own post so you get more response.

I'm Maddy, mad mum to eds aged nearly 3.

I had severe SPD in my pregnancy which has unfortunately carried on post pregnancy but that is rare.

I got mine at 20 weeks and it got progressively worse.

The important thing is to see a physio who knows about SPD straight away. You may be given exercises and possibly a support belt. Its important not to overdo it. If you havent already, read this article which might help you.

There are lots of members on here with or who have had SPD so you'll get lots of help and advice hun. Good luck.

The buddy scheme is also avaliable if you click my link below.

Lol...... well it's meant to be but i think i'm cursed then! lol.....but in all honesty it is uncommon to stay afterwards your just unlucky if it does.

Welcome to the site, I'm Tsena. I live in cambridgeshire with my 2 boys and dp. I had spd with both pregnancies and it was wrongly diagnosised in my first, but they changed that when it presented again in my second pregancy but it was misdiagnosed till late on and i had vertually no help from the nhs till now. I remember being in complete shock and so scared and all the what if's and the unanswered questions nearly drove me mad (ok i was mad already to those who know me!)

If you need a hand working your way around give someone a shout or pop up a post in the chit chat section and someone will help you find the way.... I look forward to chatting to you some more,

Take care, big gentle hugs. x

Hi I'm Kim, mum to Rebecca 13, Ruthie 11 and Cameron 4. I'm also pg with No.4. We live in Norfolk with dh.

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering with SPD, and that you were told it was normal aches and pains of pregnancy - I thought things had moved on from that stage now. I was told the same when mine started while I was pg with Ruthie 11 years ago - and I struggled through having to fight for any kind of understanding and treatment, eventually unable to walk and being induced early. Unfortunately my SPD has stayed with me too, although it does seem to be much more common that it goes once baby is born, and I hope this is the case for you.

You will find lots of ladies who will help and understand here. Welcome to the site.

xxx
