Hello all,

Just a quick update on our new house..
We had the housing inspector come out on Friday to check our house out.
There are a few queries to be checked out, as when we moved in, a lot of things weren't 'standard' like the shower, doors, bathroom and fitted wardrobes.. so its now down to the lettings team wether i have to take them out (god, i hope not) or leave them as i found them, but other than that, everything else is fine.
Spent the whole 2 days before cleaning from top to bottom (not that its dirty in the 1st place) but with 4 kids running riot on school holidays, theres bound to be some mess, but im relieved my side of things are done with.

Just got to wait for them to ring up beginning of next week to see what happens next.
I dont think they get the keys to the new property back until the 9th April, so anytime after that, all being well we should get the keys.
Woohoo!
I dont want to start packing too early, even though we've got like 30 boxes in the dining room ready to go lol
So any more news, i'll let you all know as and when!

And, yes i know i said short.. but come on, by now you should know when i say short... i never mean it lololol
Thanks for listening.

Awww bless you hun it's a pain when they want it all let as it was when you moved in as i'm sure the changes you've made improve the property! So here's hoping they have some common sense!

As for packing i'd just pack the non- essentials away. Like pics you don't want to risk getting damaged etc. As when the frantic packing comes you know your valuables and fav pics will survive.

Good luck hun will keep my fingers crossed for you. x

Exciting for you all, Amanda! I'd be packing right now if I was you! lol! Really glad they've got their finger out and allocated you a house. Very best of luck with the move, doll! Hope you hear very soon what's happening.

I was really annoyed with our old housing assoc when we moved.

When we moved into the property, the entire house had to be stripped and re-decorated from top to bottom. Obv with kids, there were a few marks on the walls but nothing serious. Anyway, after a couple of weeks of living in our new house, we get a bill for £300 to pay for the old house being redecorated again !!! Was utterly fuming as the house was riddled with damp and we took pics to prove it.

We refused to pay the bill as it was totally unreasonable of them to gut the house again and then charge us for it. Told them that we would take the pics to a newspaper and complain about the poor housing, never heard from them again, lol !

Thanks for your nice wishes girls.
I've phoned the housing peeps up earlier, as im so impatient and would like to know whats going on asap... rather than them leaving it till the last minute to be informed, but the inspection details have been passed to the manager, for him to assess and see what we have to do about the stuff that was already in here when we moved in!
Should get a call sometime soon, but im not holding my breath for him to rush himself you know lol

Hazy, my expectations of housing associations has dropped dramatically since being here for the last 7 years.
We've been warned that any left over items we will be billed for, including carpets and flooring... i dont get that though... you have to remove them when you leave, but buy the whole house worth again in your new place, like i have the money to do that???
I'm pleased you didnt have to pay that stupid charge though, anything to try and get money out of us.
