Argh!  I've had the morning from hell.

I had to run an errand for work but on the way back my car engine cut out.  That wouldn't have been as bad if I wasn't driving at the time.

I coasted into the nearest layby and tried the ignition.  The bloomin' thing wouldn't turn.  Of all the days I'd left my mobile phone at home so had no way of contacting anyone.  It was sooooo scary.

The walk back to work was 3 miles.  It was sweltering hot, and I really didn't relish having to walk along a very busy and dangerous by-pass.

Ten minutes into the walk a Police car cruises by on the opposite side so I pulled my damsel in distress face and hoped he'd turned around and rescue me.  He did!!  Not before telling me to report into the Comms Centres so I didn't get a ticket (for parking illegally) and to arrange recovery asap - as if I needed telling!

He laughed when I told him where I was headed and told me to jump in.  Cool, I'm riding in the front of a cop car.  I was so tempted to ask for the blue flashing lights but thought I better not push my luck!  And he was so nice he put the report through to Comms for me.

Anyhoos, the AA guy was equally helpful.  He arrived within 10 mins!  Unfortunately, he couldn't fix the fault at the roadside so he towed me to the garage, took me home (so I got to ride in the front of the Tow Truck as well - cool!) and came back to collect the car keys when the garage realised I hadn't dropped them off - doh!!

So here I am carless at home...worrying about my car because I rely on it so much, but things could've turned out worse.

I'm just hoping the garage bill won't shock me too much.

The garage have rang.  Apparently it was something to do with coils and camshafts...

They've had to order parts in but I should have my baby back tomorrow afternoon.

The kids and I are going to barricade ourselves into an empty, padded cell.

That way nobody will get hurt!  And I can't damage/break anything.
