Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but can anyone tell me if Jet will have any reactions to his first Parvo injection ? He's having it on Saturday and I am expecting him to yelp but I don't know if he will have any bad after effects and will he then associate me with pain ? Thanks for any help, xx.

No and they don't even feel it

I took our little Boo today for her Booster and she is tiny and did not even notice it.

Never heard of any dog having a reaction to the injections hunny! Good luck Jet x I'm sure he'll be fine. And if you're worried about him not liking you for it, get the vet nurse to hold him for the jab and then you can cuddle him after. I don't think any dog I've taken for jabs has held a grudge against me, at least I hope not! Lol xx

Some dogs will feel them and let a little cry out but mainly from shock rather than pain...The only after effect may be tiredness a few hours after which is totally normal. So no heavy excersise for that day as pup may be wiped out! Just treat the dog as normal and praise loads for being good at the vets!

Hope your pup enjoys the visit! My dogs love the vets despite all the sticks and operations my one lab has had to have lately!

another after effect is a dodgy tummy. But as said, they hardly ever feel it and if anything he will just love all the fuss and attention lol xx

The injection doesn't hurt them.  We had Boo microchipped when she was little (well she still is little) and that is a blooming big needle she didn't like that at all but after even that was done she wasn't bothered by it.  I find the worming tablets are about the only thing that ever upsets Boo puts her off her food for a few days and gives her dodgy tum.

finally something i know about, dogs !!! you'll find that wee jet will hardly flinch when you take him for his injection.

Its us adults that worry more than the dogs, my youngest dog even has a tattoo in her ear incase she gets stolen ( she's very high pedigree ) and she only yelped a little when she had that done x

Are you having him micro chipped too, this is one of the best ways to get your pet back if something happens and you can upgrade your choice, so that if your pet goes missing they help with the cost of posters and so on too, it is only £5.00 at our local RSPCA office.
