I have recently put Rianna onto 50/50 combination feeding, and ever since have found that she has a problem with her wind. i have been giving her gripe water which at first worked a treat but the last few days is not as effective.
I would like your opinions as to whether there is anything else i can do to help her, i am using sma gold powder and avent bottles so not sure if this makes a difference, i never had this problem with Dionne so am totally new to this colic thing please help.

have you tried infacol? that is supposed to help and is availible on prescription. Also try sittin Rianna up slightly whilst feeding the bottles and wind regularly throughout her feed. I cant help too much as none of mine have ever suffered with colic but I'm sure someone else can

Hi Thumbles,
My 6 week old son is also suffering with colic and my fist son did also. It's horrible for them and also as the parent having to see your baby in distress but be able to offer no help. I have tried just about everything going.. changed bottles, changed milk, tried infacol, gripe water and at the moment trying colief. Most of them worked for first few days then seemed to have no effect. My first son grew out of his colic around 12 weeks old i'm hoping it won't last any longer than that with my 6 week old(Daniel). I've run out of ideas to try now. What works for one baby doesn't always work for another so perhaps try infacol or colief both you can get on perscription.

Hiya.
My ds suffered terribly from colic when younger. I found that gripe
water worked best for him and he was more willing to take that too.
Something else I found helped was to rock him in his carseat from side
to side while playing music. He used to love Busted! This seemed to
help sooth him when he had it.
Colic is awful I can remember many a night we'd be outside on our
fire-escape pushing him back and forth to sooth him. Hope you're lo
gets over it soon.

my lo is on sma gold + white, half of each, and I'm using the avent bottles too. Which size teat are you using? I was on the single hole, but had to move fred onto the no 2 teat, he took a few days and gripe water once in the morning, and now he seems fine. I honestly don't know what to suggest, hope you manage to sort it.

Thanks ladies im going to stick with the gripe water as i have heard lo's can get a bit dependant on infacol, but have been shwn how to massage her tummy and am going to get some different teats for her bottles and see how that goes, she has been a little better today thankfully, just need to get her to take a full feed now instead of taking it in dribs n drabs all day, very tiring, and i thought bf was hard work lol.

Hi Thumbles. Ella had horrible colic, so I bought some Nuk teats. You can get them asda and boots and they have a vent on the top to let the air in as LO drinks. They're brilliant and fit on the avent bottles. She drinks much better with them.
