Ellie was v grumpy yesterday afternoon and hardly slept at all - she was still wide awake at 11.30pm and wouldn't go to bed or even have her dummy so DH took her in the car to get her to sleep - we then left her in her car seat until 4.30am as I was too scared to wake her in case she wouldn't go back down (I was shattered !) - she slept till 5.30am and then fed and went down again until 7.30am.  On the plus side, she wasn't feeding every 4 hours like normal but I feel guilty for leaving her in her seat for so long - anyone else had to do this to get their LO to sleep?  It's something I swore I'd never do!!

I haven't done it for that length of time but when I get back from shopping if Jacks asleep, I do leave him in his seat until I've unpacked everything and had a cuppa.

Don't feel bad about it though because you had her best interests at heart and she didn't suffer any ill effects as a result. She was probably quite grateful for the kip.

There are some nights I would resort to anything just for some sleep.

I leave Ollie in his car seat if he is asleep, no way am I waking him up when he is asleep I am not that stupid.  My hv told me I shouldn't leave him in the car seat for more than 2hrs as young babies can get breathing difficulties  but I have never heard this before and can't find any evidence so will have to ask her where she got that from.

It's hard especially when you are breastfeeding and can't get a night off at all.  Most of the time I feel ok but it doesn't take much to tip the balance and I am exhausted.

Don't feel guilty.  No harm done and you got some sleep.

Hi Ya, i havent done this myself but know of some of my friends that have and their lo's never suffered. sometimes you have to do it just for your sanity so dont fret.

I think i am worse if anything as i give in and end up cuddling Rianna some nights just to get some sleep, and i know i shouldnt be but i have a 7 year old who needs her sleep for school.
