Hi, i am back again. had one more question in mind to ask. I am not taking antihistamine tablets anymore for my allergy but i am still on a homeopathy medication. is it safe to go ahead a plan a pregnancy while on medication. Does homeopathy have side effect?

Its always worth discussing it with your GP or a pharmasist.

Also make sure you are taking Folic Acid supplements if you are ttc.

yes id talk to your gp hun,their the only ppl realy qualified to advise you on what is and isnt safe to use during ttc or preg....and yes i agree,take the folic acid tabs too...

i have already been taking folic acid for the last 6 months:) eversince i have been trying. I spoke to my GP and she said she was not sure.

I'd definitely see another GP, you should be able to find out what is and isn't safe to take whilst TTC.  It'll also be a good idea to ask your pharmasist as they'll be able to talk you through whats suitable and what isn't though I find they tread extremely cautiously and pretty much say take nothing.

Homeopathy is generally considered safe in pregnancy and whilst ttc.  It's not like herbs as it is such a small amount of natural materials found in nature.  In fact homeopathy is increasingly being used for pregnancy and labour as it is safe you can buy homeopathic pregnancy packs.  Most GP's are not trained in homeopathy you would need to speak to a homeopath to find out the best things to take whilst pregnant.  I used to have a brilliant gp who was also a homeopath but sadly she moved back to Germany where homeopathy is used more often than in the UK.
