Well hello ladies,

Ihad my scan today to check for PCOS not my tubes and things aren't looking good i have a black line (cysts) all around my ovaries.

It was quite a thick mass of cysts surrounding both ovaries not sure quite what that means for our chances what with dh's problems too! i cant believe this is the case i have never had any symptoms.

Im feeling very low and upset about this atm .

Sorry thats its such rubbish news hunny. But at least they know now what is probably causing your probs and can hopefully start looking at a solution. Have they suggested any options yet? Thoughts go out to ya!

My brothers ex girlfriend had this and still managed to concieve (be it all, with someone else's child) hence ex, so it can still happen, and she was told it wouldn't be possible, don't give up i am sure it will happen soon enough for you, and with you finding out what is making things difficult, you are sure to find the right treatment or help.

Becky, I know how hard it is to receive news like this, but there is a lot they can do to help fertility. There are drug treatments to increase the amount of eggs produced. You could also have IVF, PCOS means that the womb is working as it should, so if they could take eggs from you you could have them reimplanted.

Try and stay positive, and just because there is cysts on both ovaries doesnt mean that some eggs aren't getting through and that you could still conceive naturally.

I didnt want to look up anything on PCOS when I was diagnosed because I was worried about the scare monger sites that make it sound far worse than it can be. There are some ladies on here who will dramatically put your mind at ease about conceiving.

When are you seeing the gynaecologist next? Im sure s/he will be able to explain further how much the cysts will effect you and what can be done to help. Thinking of you babe xxxx

Becky I'm so sorry. Its no consolation now I know but now you know what's causing the problems there will be ways to improve your chances. People fall pregnant with little miracles all the time - you just have to pick up a women's weekly mag to see that - and you and dh are very deserving of a little miracle.

There are so many advances these days in fertility treatment and I'm sure there will be something that will be able to help you!

Speak through your options with your GP or specialist. In the mean time keep up the practicing and who knows.

So sorry to hear you didn't get good news, Becky. Don't give up hope - as the other mums have said,  there are lots of options with fertility these days (though I know that won't be much consolation to you at the moment). Did they give you any of the options, or say what would be your next step?

I don't have any knowledge of this condition at all, but just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.xxx
