Hi everyone,

I am currently trying for a baby, but im a bit worried because i have been on the pill for a few yeard. I stopped taking the pill about 2 weeks ago now. I was taking Microgynin 30. Does it normally take a good few months for your periods to get back to normal or not?

Thanks, Jade xx

Welcome to Madmums, Jade,
I'm Amanda and i have 4 children.

I just wanted to say, yes, it probably will take a couple of months for your bodys monthly cycle to return to normal after stopping the pill, but also there is a chance you could become pregnant straight away.. it does depend on a variety of things.
There are a few ladies on here that have been ttc for many months, and then there are some that have gotten pregnant as soon as they came off which ever contraception they were taking.

My advice would be to start taking an iron suppliment like folic acid, and to eat a healthy, balanced diet.. also to cut out smoking and alcohol.
Good Luck with trying to concieve.
