Hi welcome to Madmums,

I'm Sammie,

Well i have to say pregnancy tests although deemed accurate weren't entirely accurate in 2 of my pregnancies and i didn't test positive until 8 weeks!

I know it is hard and you want an answer now but seriously, wait a few days test again and if it is still negative go back to the doctor and ask if he will do any blood tests to put your mind at ease. Have you recently came off the pill or depo? The reason i ask is that sometimes coming off those can mimick pregnancy symptoms.

Hth

Hi Naomi :o) Welcome to madmums!

Im Christine, 25, and single mum to Joshua 5yrs!

As you are thinking about the results, and anxious this could be delaying your period. There are many factors that could delay or indeed make you miss a period. Have you changed your diet? exercise? stress? It is possible that you have had a false negative. Some tests detect earlier in pregnancy than others. The tests are usually quite sensative but there has to be a certain level of the pregnancy hormone in your urine for the tests to accurately pick it up as positive. Just because you have had 2 negative tests doesnt mean you are not pregnant. You may have conceived late in your cycle. I would try to relax, and do as the doctor says. Test again in a few days (as many as you can try and wait, although I know thats not an easy wait). If you are still having negative tests, and no period then as bug suggests, maybe your doctor will do a blood test. This is far more accurate and will detect early pregnancy hormones.

I hope that you dont have to wait for much longer for the reults, and that you get the results you want!

Hi I'm Kim, mum to Rebecca 13, Ruthie 11 and Cameron 4. I'm also pg with No.4. We live in Norfolk with dh.

I did a test with this pg which came back negative...I was on the mini-pill and just had a feeling that I was. As I hadn't had af for 4 months I wasn't sure where I would be in my cycle so must have tested too early. Needless to say, when I did another test, it was positive!

Good luck when you next test. I hope you get the result you want. Welcome to the site.

xxx
