Hi ladies, well today i had an appointment with the psychiatrist and after she has finished establishing my problems and dragging up all my horrible memories, she informed me that she wants to put me on some heavy drugs for paranoia and depression. She told me that she is going to see me weekly and expects me to have stopped bf by 2 weeks from today. She wasn't happy with the pills i wa already on as they wern't helping and the dosage i need will almost certainly be dangerous if i continue bf Liam. She is referring me to occupational therapy due to my HMS and SPD as she feels that it is all related, im frustrated coz day to day events are impossible at the moment. I just dont know where to start with this stopping. I have 2 weeks, please help! I didnt want to give up so soon, but my health comes first, or i wont be any good to my lo's.

As iv never bf i cant really give advise but im sure plenty of other mums will b able to help in that department

Oh Sam! You poor thing! Well done for getting the help you need, I really hope it goes a long way in helping you feel tons better.

As far as the breastfeeding goes I want to first say a massive well done for getting this far with it! Liam has had the best possible start in life thanks to your perserverance!

You are part way there in that Liam will take a bottle already. Replace one feed at a time and leave a few days between dropping them. If Liam roots for you get dp or someone else to feed him his bottle for now. If your boobs get sore a cold compress can help from the fridge. Try not to express any off to relieve them or you will keep producing but if its really painful hand express a little of just to ease the pain.

Just wanted to send you big hugs and lots of luck. I bf all 3 of mine but just didn't produce enough milk for them so dried up very quickly. I am sorry that I can't really offer you much advice. You've done really well to get this far xxxxx

Awww bug, I know where your coming from with having to stop b/f. I was giving baby winston more than enough milk in quantity but for me the quality of my milk was not good enough. So for 2 days now he has been fed on the bottle for the day and only having a night time feed. It was hard making the decision, but at the end of the day I decided it was obviously better for him as he wasn't gaining weight, in fact he was continuing to lose it. And as you said, you will be no use if your health goes bad. At least we both gave them the best to start with. And all you can do is your best!

Thanks for posting ladies, i have had a great support network through you! I am sad that i have to stop sooner than i wanted, but its probably for the best. I havent fed him at all yet today..and suprisingly i dont feel sore...Does that mean my milk is really low? Thank you all so much for helping me during the 7 weeks i fed Liam xxxxxxx You are all stars
