hi ladies, i know theres quiet a few of us on here who already or are soon gonna be potty training there lo's, I'm starting soon and have come across these helpful tips - hope they work ....

TOP 10 POTTY TRAINING TIPS

1, Look out for the signs of readiness,  Theres no fixed rule about when to start potty training but be on the lok out for your child's increasing of being wet or soiled, or in a interest in your own habits.

2, Make it fun, Stories, songs and games will help relax your child and make them more receptive to the move out of nappies.

3, Make it easy, Put a potty in a place other than a bathroom - and consider buying a small portable seat if your child would rather sit straight on the loo, whatever you do be consistent.

4, Make it happen, wait untill your childs ready - and it will be easier for you both, dont forget that every child is different so let your child develop in their own time.

5, Tell them how its done, children learn by imitation, so take your child to the toilet with you, involve them in the process including flushing, washing and drying.

6, Tell them thy're doing great, constant reassurance works wonders for you both - so start with a wall chart to monitor process together and consider offering rewards for a big step forward.

7, Tell them its o.k to have accidents, were only human after all and little accidents are part of life - pull-ups can help save their blushes on long journeys or trips to the super market.

8, Dress for sucess, When it comes to changing time - think ahead, remember to dress your child in clothes what are easy to get in and out of - eventually they will want to do it themselves - so make it as simple as you can.

9, Take care of night time, remember that potty training does'nt stop at 7 in the evening - so make sure they go just before bed and first thing in the morning - pull-ups are ideal for night time use.

10, Be patient and try to keep up your sence of humour, after all they are only learning - and the end WILL eventually be in sight ..........I promise !!!!

goodluck ladies and keep posting how your lo's get on cheers jue xxx

Joshua is 4yrs and still not dry at night. He is always really wet at night so I know he isnt ready for training, we were all late at being dry at night in my family. I thought because he trained early during the day night time would be easy ... lol I was soooo wrong!
