Did anyone use books to teach potty training? And if so which ones. I am starting Eds properly next week and want to buy a book about potty training to show him and talk about it.

Also those with boys - do they do stand up wees or sit down wees. I'd been teaching Eds sit down wees but then he stood up on his stool and aimed his 'winky' at the toilet 'like daddy' so I'm not sure now whether in encourage this or stick with sit down wees?

Cameron did both sit-down and stand-up wees to start with - and still does! I'd just let Eds do whatever he's comfortable with. The stand-ups may be a bit messy til he gets the hang of aiming properly (infact - scrap that - they never do! lol) I never used any books with my 3.

Good luck next week.

We used ping pong balls in the loo for training ds and he loved it, but they do flush away so buy many and then he won't be upset by them disappearing, you can also buy stickers for the toilet bowl too.

Not sure about books

We've got toilet stickers that reveal a picture when they wee on them, they are for harry really.

Louis sits down as he hasnt mastered the art of standing.  But he hasn't learnt to 'hold it down' yet so he wee's all over the show.

Hence why i've put it off for another few weeks or so.

We have the potty training for boys book.  It has a mini sticker chart in it which was quite good, but louis never bothered with it so we dont use it.
