after my last post about having PND, i started a "supprt group" this
morning called "life after birth".
it runs for 10 week and is every thursday morning for 2 hours.
I really enjoyed it this morning.

The course is "hosted" by a CPN (community psychiactric nurse) and
a Health visitor, he says they host the group but we run it, he advises
us and explains things but he said we will learn a lot from each other.
over the next 10 weeks will cover things like relaxation, more in
depth info on depression, anxiety, health issues, assertiveness and
self-esteem, there will also be a dietician who will discuss and look at
our individual diets, baby massage.
they also have a day where our partners/husbands can go along and
another open day so we can take our kids along.

On another note, i left roisin with a babysitter (expenses covered by
NHS) and that was the 1st time i have left her (apart from with her
dad. LOL! )
i felt like it was a big achievement for me, because of the PND, i
always feel anxious about leaving her but i did it today and although i
missed her for the 2 and a bit hours, it was nice to have some "me
time" even though i was at the group.

Just thought i would share my day with you !

Good for you - glad you've found the help you need. Well done for leaving Roisin too - that's a huge thing. Hope you're feeling very pleased with yourself! It's very important to make time for yourself.

Well done you !!

I went to a counselling group as well and I really enjoyed it. Made some brilliant friends and althought there were tears along the way, I'm so glad I went.
