Well, Ive just returned from my post natal check and despite trying to deny it to myself and the doc picked up on the fact that I have devo got PND even though Im laughing and joking about it now.  The thing is I don't feel sad, just empty.  Now on the prozac so Im waiting for them to kick in and then I can tell you all how wonderful they are.  I think the hardest part was admitting to myself (about 2 weeks ago). I thought I was better as I have felt quite good for the past few days but then I get a bad day and cry for no reason - perhaps it was april group withdrawal LOL - will try and chat on here more but I am back at work in 3 weeks so it will be hard.  Wouldnt mind it but I have just applied for a teaching job with more responsibility (Head of Year) as I am currenty a deputy HOY must be mad - but now I am officially crazy woohoo!!!

I'm glad it is being sorted. I have a history of depession and I know how difficult it can be. It is good that you can laugh about it. Good luck with the prozac, but do let the doctor know if it isnt working or if you feel anys ide affects as there are a lot of different anti depressents out there and they dont all suit everyone.

We're all here if you need to talk sweet heart.

Take care,

Madz and eddie xxx

I think we should start a crazy teacher's club!

I have been on antidepressants for 3 weeks now and the last couple of days i have started to feel more 'normal' again. I know what you mean about good days and bad days. I was starting to wonder if there really is anything wrong or whether this is just what I'm like, if you know what I mean - has been so long since I felt normal. Think I'm getting there though.

I'm going back to work on Monday (pm the first week). But at least it won't be long then before the summer hols!

Hope the tablets help and good luck with it all, emma x

Glad the doctor picked up on it and has prescribed you with Prozac.  Don't be surprised if you are on them for the next 3-6mnths even when you start to feel better.  They will probably take 2-3wks to start working so don't give up in the mean time.  Like Maddy said if they don't agree with you go back and get something different.  Hope things start to feel better soon.

Good luck with the job hope it all works out well for you.

Well done for admitting it to yourself, that really is the hardest part. I have been depressed before and too have PND. The antidepressants are starting to work and at last the good days outnumber the bad.

Hang on in there and you'll get there. I hadn't realised how common PND is. Apparently its between 1 in 10 and 1 in 5 mothers.

Good luck hun. xxx
